Quilt Gallery

Hi Dollmakers... I know a lot of you are also quilt makers...

I started making quilts for charity in Nov. of 2012. The Delaware Sewing Center in Dover Delaware does a Cuddle Quilt project, sending quilts to needy folks all over the USA, and even to Haiti and Africa.

I love the challenge of designing my own quilts. I call it "bottom up and middle out" piecing. Because backing pieces are somewhat limited most of the quilts we make are about 40" By 60".

I start by picking out a backing then finding fabrics that co-ordinate. I often find a "panel" for the center and work out from there. Half square triangles, quarter square triangles, string piecing, crazy piecing, and piano keys, are the most often used pieces. I arrange them as desired and go from there.

Whenever appropriate I like to make a doll or toy to go with the quilts I make.

This gallery is a "show and tell" gallery of some of my quilts. They are not for sale.
